Peter Pan Donut and Pastry Shop is an old-school bakery in Greenpoint that has been around since 1950.   My friends and I sat down at the diner stools and discussed our game plan.  We ordered a chocolate cake donut, a plain, and the toasted coconut, along with three coffees.

The chocolate cake donut was light and fluffy.  The outside has a satisfying crunchy glaze, and the inside was warm and soft.  The chocolate flavor is subtle.

The plain is the perfect buttery flaky treat.  It is not too sweet and scrumptious when dunked in coffee.

The Toasted Coconut was doughy and airy.  One of my friends said the texture was similar to a donut at Dunkin Donuts.  However, the toasted coconut flavor is delightful.

The donuts only cost $1 a piece.  For a cup of coffee and a donut it is only $2, making it a delicious cheap treat.
