The previous week I had received my semester grades and I was in need for some shopping therapy. The Lower East Side always has the best hideaway boutiques. I met with my friend Maya, she was taking me to a shop called Pixie Market. I trust her with shopping because, like myself, she is also a shopaholic. Although impractical with what we truly need we always know the best stores. It is a small place which is easily passable if one doesn’t keep her head up. Inside are unique trendy garments and they only keep one of the items on the rack at a time, so there is never a repeated piece. Even though the prices are high, it is highly unlikely you’ll be caught wearing the same dress as someone else from here. They also have a $20 bin which is worth ruffling through.
As we walked onwards, we found another store called Reformation. This too was pricey but had really good pieces. Reformation makes a sustainable clothing line by using recycled fabrics. There clothing is very modern, using silky and chic black materials. The set up of the store is very original. Wires suspend from the ceiling holding up the racks. Both Pixie Market and Reformation have websites where you can check out their merchandise.
