Because of the 74° day in the middle of October; I knew it might be my last chance to enjoy an iced coffee until May. I packed up my art book, and left my history homework behind. I walked to the small Blue Bottle Coffee shop on Dean Street and ordered the New Orleans Iced Coffee with whole milk. I am fairly new to this coffee world, and I won’t pretend that I can taste all the flavor notes. But I could taste the smoky chicory in the New Orleans blend. The addition of cane sugar satisfied my sweet tooth. I had spent all my money on my coffee, but if I had more to spare, I would have bought their double chocolate cookie made with Mast Brothers chocolate. I sat on the benches outside the shop, soaking in the last rays of summer, while sketching in my art book. The weather combined with sweet sips of coffee made my afternoon that much better.
